An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, not only when it comes to health issues, but also when it comes to legal matters that affect your medical or dental practice or your nursing or pharmacy license.
Hertz Schram is committed to the health and well-being of our clients’ medical and dental practices. Our attorneys specialize in legal matters that are unique to physicians, dentists, and other licensed healthcare professionals. From the purchase and sale of practices to leasing and purchasing office space and medical equipment to financing to partner buy-ins and terminations, we work with our clients to meet all of their business and personal legal needs. We provide guidance on operational and administrative matters, including preparing employment and office manuals and handling all personnel matters from employment contracts to discrimination and harassment allegations.
Unfortunately, licensed professionals face additional challenges protecting their careers against healthcare license issues or even criminal charges. A criminal conviction or disciplinary action can result in the revocation or suspension of a professional license. In addition to protecting you against any criminal charge, the lawyers of Hertz Schram are able to stand up for you and represent you in front of any type of administrative tribunal to ensure that your career is not destroyed by the criminal allegations. You can be assured that your career is in good hands when you turn to our team to protect it.
Within our Medical & Dental Practice Groups, we have a special niche representing FSOFs. We work with and advise clients as they apply for and become licensed FSOFs. We also correct noncompliant practices and successfully defend facilities whose licenses have been challenged by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office and Licensing & Regulatory Affairs (LARA), in reliance upon a maze of onerous and complicated regulations that govern FSOFs.
We work closely with our clients and their staff to ensure their facility remains in full licensing compliance. Based upon our decades of experience encountering various scenarios, we use a systemic approach, which includes a customizable and detailed licensing compliance checklist. We conduct mock licensing surveys, provide licensing training for newly hired employees, and present seminars for facility staff on licensing matters both proactively and when compliance issues arise.
I will never be able to say thank you enough to attorney Steve Weiss. He is one heck of a good lawyer and a very caring, compassionate person. Who could ask for more! My words convey so little when my heart feels so very much. Forever grateful.
I have worked closely with attorney Laurie Raab for many years on a variety of legal matters. Laurie provided services for my family related to purchases and sales of real property, probate concerns, mortgages and land contracts, and other family office issues. Laurie responds quickly and provides value far in excess of the fees charged. In every case Laurie showed technical expertise and outstanding judgment. I will continue to use Laurie's services whenever I need legal advice.
