Man is laid off, then starts successful new business in Michigan

It is best to look on the bright side, as the saying goes. In other words, it is best to stay optimistic and make the best of it when a negative situation arises. Many people may have found themselves in these types of situations as a result of the recent recession and the still-stagnant economy which left many people without employment. One man in Michigan recently found himself without a job, which prompted him to start a successful new business .

The 33-year-old man was working at the unemployment office when he was suddenly laid off from his job. However, instead of losing hope, the man decided to pursue one of his passions, which is craft hard apple cider. The entrepreneur took advantage of the growing popularity of craft hard apple cider by opening his own hard apple cider brewery called The Peoples Cider. Craft hard apple cider has grown in popularity due to the recently growing popularity of craft beer.

Although the business was incorporated in 2011, the man was not able to find enough time to fully pursue the business until he lost his job in September 2012. This gave him time to experiment and work on his craft while he also gathered enough funds to buy ten fermentation tanks and then obtain a winemaker’s license. He then moved his home operation to a rented commercial space, which now supplies several local bars with its product.

This story shows how an entrepreneur can create a successful new business in Michigan if he or she has enough time and passion. However, one should not go into starting a new company blindly. It is a good idea to create a strong business plan in order to increase chances of success. The business plan will not only have a strong marketing plan it will also ensure compliance with all of the applicable rules and regulations specific to the type of business the new company will engage in.
