“Never underestimate the positive impact an attorney can have on their clients’ lives.”
I understand the importance of hard work, preparation and persistence in obtaining results for my clients, both in and outside of the courtroom. I have successfully litigated hundreds of cases over the last twenty years, with a keen focus on outcome and results for the client. Although I spend significant time fighting insurance companies, hospitals and nursing homes before juries in medical malpractice, personal injury and negligence cases, my clients have also trusted me to handle their family and criminal law matters, administrative hearings and commercial litigation. I strongly believe in developing a relationship of trust that brings clients back.
My diverse practice areas have given me the opportunity to travel and appear in most courts throughout Michigan. In medical malpractice and personal injury cases, the attorney must be willing to go the distance because the cases often do not resolve easily. I recognize how each step of the litigation process from inception, working with the client, the selection of experts, the filing of the lawsuit, preparation for depositions and mediation, all work together to position the case for settlement or successful jury verdicts. When I make a difference in a clients’ life, this makes a great difference in my own life.
One of the qualities that drives my practice is empathy. In handling family law and criminal law cases, I am sensitive to how quickly clients’ lives can be turned upside down. I am often reminded that bad things happen to good people. Whether fighting for child custody, defending a young client from making a poor choice, or advocating for a second chance before an administrative hearing officer, I believe that compassion and sensitivity toward the client must be genuine in order to have a meaningful impact on the outcome.
