Howard Hertz and Joe Bellanca Help Kick Off World IP Day

On April 23, 2015, Hertz Schram’s entertainment and intellectual property team of Howard Hertz and Joe Bellanca helped kick off World IP Day celebrations in Detroit at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. This year’s event was titled “Your Copy, Your Rights: Protecting Your Music” in an effort to help musicians protect their valuable creative works.


Howard Hertz, the keynote speaker, simplified the complex world of music publishing and explained how artists can monetize and maintain their publishing rights through multiple revenue streams.

Joe Bellanca spoke to the audience of musicians, songwriters, publicists, attorneys and representatives from record labels and publishing companies about the importance of copyright protection and knowing your rights when dealing with record labels, producers, music publishers and co-writers in the fast-paced and constantly evolving music industry.
