I bring a holistic approach to my clients’ legal and business needs. As a CPA and an attorney, I offer clients unusual and insightful solutions to their issues.
From my beginnings as a Revenue Agent for the IRS by day and law student at night, I began being immersed into tax, business, franchising, estate planning, retirement plans, and employee benefits. Over the last 20 plus years I have amassed a toolbox full of knowledge and experience that allows me to counsel people.
Because of the depth of my experience, I can quickly get to the heart of matters. This is invaluable when representing franchisors in obtaining authorization to sell franchises and ensures compliance with Federal and State franchise laws and regulations. I can then assist in establishing advertising funds that are used to develop local marketing materials, provide consistency in marketing/advertising programs, and promote communications between the franchisor and franchisees. On the flip side, my skill set helps clients who are purchasing franchises through negotiate franchise agreements that protect their interests, particularly with respect to personal guaranties, covenants not to compete, and penalties for early termination.
Among the other aspects of my practice where I provided value added is in the design of retirement plans to maximize benefit accruals for business owners. I am also “Mr. Fix It” when it comes to correcting retirement plan operational deficiencies. Sometimes this involves doing battle with the IRS and Department of Labor. Whatever it takes!
