Elizabeth C. Thomson ("Liz") is an associate with the law firm of Hertz Schram PC concentrating her practice in the areas of real estate, property rights, environmental and business litigation. With over a decade of experience, Liz's areas of specialty also include general negligence, mass tort and class action litigation. She has represented thousands of plaintiffs in various mass tort and class action cases, protecting the rights of property owners and public consumers. She has successfully litigated numerous environmental tort class actions against corporate polluters on behalf of Michigan residents. Liz also served as outside corporation counsel for the County of Wayne in what is nationally known as the "Firearms Litigation."

Liz successfully represented hundreds of Plaintiffs in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation against manufacturers and distributors of the drugs known as "FenPhen", Redux, Baycol and Sulzer hip implants.

Liz also provided pro bono legal services to Michigan families who lost loved ones in New York City on September 11, 2001.

Liz received her Juris Doctor in 1995 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She earned her Bachelor of General Studies Degree, with High Distinction, from the University of Michigan in 1991. Liz is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, the Michigan Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. She has lectured at the American Trial Lawyers Association Convention on the issues of public nuisance and the national firearms litigation.  Liz also serves as a case evaluator for the Wayne County Mediation Tribunal Association.
