Daniel W. Rucker is an associate attorney of Hertz Schram PC, where he concentrates his work in the firm's commercial litigation, criminal defense and forfeiture, negligence, and employment practice groups while also assisting in the firm's securities, qui tam (whistleblower), and appellate practice groups. Mr. Rucker previously worked as an attorney-advisor for the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Michigan, where he provided written briefs and research for federal civil and criminal litigation at the district court and appellate levels.

Mr. Rucker is a 2001 graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was the varsity soccer captain, received a scholarship as a National Merit Scholar, and graduated summa cum laude with recognition as the top graduate in the college of history and political science. Mr. Rucker obtained his Juris Doctorate as a King Scholar at the Michigan State University College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. During law school, Mr. Rucker participated in externships with a Michigan Circuit Judge and a Michigan County Prosecutor's Office and acted as a law clerk for a firm specializing in mortgage banking. Over the last several years, Mr. Rucker has also served on the board of multiple Church of the Nazarene congregations and has been active in community service endeavors, including the Angel Food Program. 

Mr. Rucker is currently admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
